The history of your Bulova watch

the Bulova watch you write is represented on 100 years of quality not only stylish - watchmaking. Whether you prefer a Bulova chronograph or a Concord's clock, it is important to know your timer history!

The Bulova watch company was founded by a Czech immigrants named Joseph Bulova in 1875. Bulova Clocks began production in Woodside, New York, where Office remains to this day next to flushing.

Bulova companies developing innovative techniques watchmaking from the first day, but the business really starting, the history began in 1941, as the world's first commercial television purchased. The commercial on the New York WNBT station on 1. July broadcast immediately before a Baseball-Spiel with the Dodgers and the Phillies. Whether you believe it or not, the commercial costs only $ 4!

Four years later the Joseph Bulova watchmaking school opened its doors. The institution founded in train, but their business, expanded to disabled veterans soon, a more diverse body of students to accommodate.

Of course it is impossible without mentioning the Accutron Bulova taken stopwatch operations in the autumn of 1960. The Accutron one watches presented revolutionary technology developed by the Swiss inventor Max Hetzel, who had worked for Bulova since the late 1940s. (Hetzel is just one example of the Swiss inventive genius - in Switzerland born Concord Mariner series are pleased!)

Drawing its power from a unique system tuning fork was the world's first electronic clock Bulova Accutron. Inside the chassis of and a 360-Hertz tuning fork sat between two electromagnets coils, a single transistor oscillator formed. This drove the fork, which in turn the clock powered the hands and allow the time to hold the device. The original was 1977 Accutron after more than 4 million of the clocks sold was engaged.

The invention of Accutron Bulova started in the national spotlight - but space. During the 1960s of competing Bulova Omega to with his rivals "first clock on the moon to create. Omega won this battle, as Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin had an Omega speed master professional in his wrist when he first walk on the moon.

But the Bulova watch company also best from - and space - the NASA tuning fork powered Accutrons used for his spaceship timing devices. This is because scientists were uncertain, like other electronic movements would fare under low gravity.

In memory of his contribution to the programme the Bulova watch Accutron line of the timer has to see a limited edition astronaut. Only 1,000 of these clocks were made and each is individually with an autograph chassis ground numbered "Buzz" Aldrin is.

Bulova headlines made 2007 again if a team is a dredging automatic Bulova watch the port of Gibraltar discovered on the floor. The clock had a Marinero lost in 1941 and was him in 2008 back still ticking!
