The dangers of chain letters and petition lists

I think chain letters and petition lists are nothing new for E-Mail users today. At some point in your life you will produce it via an email asking either help you or to any cause thoughtlessly forward it to all your contacts. The people are slaves of spam and spammers enjoy them every step of the way. Only few understand the dangers of chain letters and petition lists. They are the fuel for spam, fraud, identity theft and online fraud. You are the mechanisms that cause your mailbox charged with buckets of unsolicited bulk email and tried to rob you your hard earned money by all. The growing spam problem is our own fault, because we useless, unwanted email, simply eat up bandwidth and delay servers everywhere continue to support.

But how exactly can a harmless E-Mail make no threat to my online security? It is questions like these ignorant, the spam help achieve their goals. What people don't know is the fact that every time you ship to a chain letter email to hundreds of other mail users out there. Chances are that this chain letter will land in the mail box of a greedy spammers. The tragedy of chain letters is that email addresses of innocent people all over the world sent. This is the case when someone sends you an E-Mail for six people in the first three recipients ignore and the other three it to all your contacts. The E-Mail addresses of the first three recipients along the chain, distributed without their consent, permission or even a voice against their inclusion in the mailing list. Your E-Mail address is still a dumping area for endless spam. But it is not easy stop commercial messages for fake rolex watches and stock market quotes. You get bombarded with continuous "phishing" scams, viruses and hoaxes. Petition lists usually must have a name with an email address the user and can sometimes a phone number and the city a petition list in. followed live supply is a practical tool in the hands of a deceiver spamming. They can deliver more targeted and credible scam emails, by email to certain person. This may be a false sense of security in the recipient and to create opportunities of walking into a trap is much larger than in the case of your traditional impersonal scam emails.

I hear thousands of people screaming that petition lists for good causes, causes that actually exist. All of them really have? So many people respond to lists petition because they seem to be for valid reasons. What do you know about the person you need to for each 150. or 300. Reply entered on the list? How safe are you that this person not easy harvest email addresses for spam purposes? And even if it's a good thing really exists, as you know whether this person do not use these circumstances do? I've seen emails (also faxes and letters normal) circulates in South Africa, where people send their name and bank account of all over the world looking for riches. I've seen people blind to the lottery scams to respond with the hope that you win something. How do you win a lottery, if never enrolled, how can you receive email Bank from Barclays, if you are not a customer, how can you get, an order confirmation from Amazon if you never of them and how to be notified of suspicious activity on eBay if you are not a Member? If it is not mindless ignorance it greed cause that people with open eyes in a trap and warning light ignored all Flash step in their faces.

The more information you provide when participating in petition lists or chain letter scams, the easier you hack your accounts for scammers to steal your identity, or turn your computer into a spam zombie. The next time you receive a chain letter or a petition list, think about the consequences before participating in the chain.
